Flexible Disc Couplings

Euroflex Flexible disc couplings are designed by engineers who have been in the business since its very early days, including the developer of the original profiled Flexible disc couplings. Over the last 40 years the design criteria for Flexible disc couplings have been, and are still being, continually improved to take account of modern analysis tools, materials, etc.

Below is a list of the advantages that Euroflex disc couplings are able to offer you. There are of course many more advantages to them but this is just to give you an idea, you can contact us and we will send you details via email.

  • NO LUBRICATION & ZERO MAINTENANCE COSTS - The Euroflex Flexible disc couplings is a dry coupling not requiring any lubrication. The coupling also has no relative moving parts and maintenance is reduced to a periodic visual inspection, during any convenient shut down.
  • DESIGNS TO SUIT INDIVIDUAL APPLICATIONS - Euroflex design philosophy is to examine the requirements of our customers and offer designs to best suit the application. This philosophy, in conjunction with our specialist machining capability, means you get the most suitable and commercially attractive unit, not just the nearest fit!
  • HIGH TORQUE / SPEED CAPACITY WITH LOW MASS - Due to the unique Euroflex approach to design we can offer couplings to meet all torque and speed requirements. By using light and high strength alloys for components even lower mass can be achieved.
  • GOOD DYNAMIC BALANCE - By ensuring excellent accuracy in manufacture residual unbalance is kept to a minimum. All couplings can be dynamically balanced to international standards as required.
  • TORSIONAL RIGIDITY - Euroflex couplings are essentially torsionally rigid with zero backlash although adjustment to stiffness can usually be made at design stage to suit the requirements of any torsional analysis.
  • MISALIGNMENT CAPABILITY - Euroflex couplings offer the capability to accept significant angular, radial & axial misalignment with no sacrifice of operating performance.

The purpose of flexible disc couplings is to accept misalignment between the shafts of the connected machines. This misalignment may take the form of an axial movement of one or both the machine shafts, an angular misalignment between them or a relative radial (parallel) offset between their axis of rotation - or indeed any combination of these three. All these being accommodated whilst the coupling is rotating at speed and transmitting the machine torque.
